Marshall of the Senate of the Republic of Poland announced patronage over Marian Smoluchowski Year at PPS

At the meeting on November 3, 2016 at the office of the Marshall of the Senate of the Republic of Poland the representatives of the parties engaged in the commemoration  of Marian Smoluchowski’s 100th death anniversary presented the commemorative events. Marshall Karczewski announced his patronage over the commemoration and decided that the Senate will commemorate the prominent Polish physicist with an exhibition at the Senate and a special popular scientific session on Marian Smoluchowski. The materials from the session will be published by the Senate’s publishing office. The Senate will also pass a special anniversary resolution. The exhibition will be open from June 26 to July 10, 2017. The conference will be held on June 30, 2017.

Ewa Gudowska-Nowak (the dean of Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Applied Information Science of Jagiellonian University), prof. dr hab. Franciszek Krok (the head of the Committee on Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences), prof. dr hab. Wiesław Andrzej Kamiński (the head of the Committee for the Marian Smoluchowski Year). Marshall Karczewski was accompanied by senator prof. dr hab. Kazimierz Wiatr.
