The last meeting of this term (2010-2013) and the first of the new one (2014-2017) took place on 14th  December 2013 at the Faculty of Physics, Warsaw University. After constituting the Presidium of the PPS Main Board of the new term, both boards conducted the agenda devoted to summarising the activity of the passing PPS Main Board and the PPS President, the PPS Treasurer and the PPS Secretary-General. It was concluded that the omnidirectional activity of the passing authorities played a significant role in building the identity of the Society and the fulfilment of the PPS Statute. It contributed to a significant growth of the influence of the Society on the professional and social environment and re-establishing its prestige in the society.

During the meeting, a change in the PPS medals and awards regulations was also commonly accepted. It was decided that the awards and medals will be awarded by 4 separate Committees: the Marian Smoluchowski Medal Committee, the PPS Scientific Awards Committee, the PPS Awards for the Popularization of Science Committee and the PPS Teaching Awards Committee . The committees will be appointed by the PPS Board for a 4-year term and completely autonomous in their decisions concerning granting awards and, unlike in the past, such decisions will not require the PPS Main Board approval.
